Message from the Resort Manager

Dearest Islanders,

As we step towards the end of first quarter, with gladness I am sharing to all of you my deepest appreciation for everyone’s hard work. We work tirelessly over our busy periods, Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day formidably celebrated and yet we are all becoming stronger as great team.

February was not easy for everyone, we were hit side by side with negative comments on our TripAdvisor and Travelclick platform, but we will not stop where we fall. We, as a team, will continue to motivate each other, drive our focus in exceeding guest’s expectations and seize the opportunity to turn these unfortunate situations into richer experiences.

Emotional journey may get along the way seeing numbers of our wonderful islanders leaving but again these are just a few challenges that we as a team should surpass all together.

As we pursue on compelling our Brand Traits, I would like to encourage everyone to look on what’s beyond for each of us, help the community to enhance the working environment and leave no room for disappointment, hence we can truly continue to extend to our guests our Island Bliss! To quote one of our guest’s appreciation of our genuine commitment on our Survey, “We felt a genuine connection with everyone, it was a real testament to the power of human spirit”

March will be a promising month for all islanders as we will soon introduce our firstSkyhouse with bubble” This launching will give Amilla another level of hospitality and surely a noteworthy addition to our features and high-end branding.

Once again, thank you very much for all your valued support and continued dedication!

Healthy Tips – Water is the most Important to our Body

Do you know why water is important to our Body? Because our body use water in all it cells, organ and tissues to help regulate temperature and maintain other body function. Because our body loses water through breathing, sweating and digestion, it’s important to re-hydrate by drink fluids and eat food contain of water.

6 Reasons to drink water

  • Drinking water help to maintain the balance of body fluids ;

Your body is composed of about 60% water, the function of these bodily fluid include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients and maintain of the body temperature. Through the posterior pituitary gland, your brain communicate with your kidney and tell it how much water to excrete as urine.

  • Water can help control calories

While water doesn’t have any magical effect on weight loss, substituting it for higher calorie beverage can certainly help, food with high water content tends to look larger, its higher volume requires more chewing, and its absorb more slowly by the body, which help you feel full

  • Water help energizing muscle

Cells that don’t maintain their balance of fluids which can result in muscle fatigue, when the muscle cell don’t have adequate fluids they don’t work as well and performance can suffer, drinking enough fluids is important when do exercising to energizing the muscle.

  • Water help keep skin looking good

Your skin contain plenty of water, and function as a protective barrier to prevent excess fluid loss, lack of water your skin become dehydration and your skin look more dry and wrinkle, water help lock moisture into your skin

  • Water Help your kidney

Body fluids transport waste product in and out of the cells, the main toxin in the body is blood urea nitrogen, when you getting enough fluids urine flow freely, is light in color and free odor, when your body is not getting enough fluid, urine concentration, color and odor increase because the kidneys trap extra fluid for bodily function.

If you chronically drink too little of water, you may be at higher risk of kidney stone. Especially in the warm climate.

  • Water maintain normal bowel function

Adequate hydration keeps things flowing along your gastrointestinal tract and prevents Constipation When you don’t get enough fluid, the colon pulls water from stools to maintain hydration — and the result is constipation

“Adequate fluid and fiber is the perfect combination, because the fluid pumps up the fiber and acts like a broom to keep your bowel functioning properly

Jalsa – January 2019 Awards and Recognition

Rock Star Winner – JummanKhadem (Spa Attendant)

The new Wellness Café kitchen opened at the end of December, during one of the busiest time for both Spa and F&B. Jumman has worked above and beyond his responsibilities, making sure that the kitchen was always clean and tidy for the chefs, placing and maintaining the table set-up, giving feedback on what was missing and what could be implemented. And most of all, serving all the guests that were passing by and stopping for a bite or a drink. His support was crucial during the busy times and we want to see Jumman’s effort rewarded!

Jalsa – January 2019 Awards and Recognition

Super Hero Winner – RanilSrimanna (Commis)

It’s our great pleasure to nominate Ranil Sirimanna from Kitchen Department as Roohu for the month of January 2019!

For the month of January, he stepped in and relieved those 2 kitchen staff who got sick for a long period of time and work in different sections such as Main Kitchen, Fish N’ Chips, Breakfast and Night Duty and he EXCELLED in those areas which is one of the positive qualities that a chef should have. He is an amazing islander who gave so much emphasis to his tasks. He made sure that each Mise-en-place is well prepared and in good quality and always one step ahead when the operation starts.

Srimanna is efficient at work and we can see that he is the definition of “Action speaks louder than words”. Though he is quite shy type and doesn’t talk much (introvert type of person), when operation starts he shows that he can do multitasking and finish all his tasks on time with great results. We can confidently say that he is the right islander to receive such award and recognition for the month of January 2019.

We encourage everyone to vote for Ranil Sirimanna.
